Georgia ~ Multiple Taxes: DOR Extends Relief to Businesses Affected by Snowstorms
//

The Georgia Department of Revenue is providing tax relief to businesses affected by the snowstorms that occurred the week of January 27, 2014. For businesses whose principal place of business is located in Georgia and that have been affected by the snowstorms, the department is postponing until February 7, 2014, the deadlines for withholding tax returns and payments that were due on January 31, 2014. The relief also applies to taxpayers not in Georgia but whose records are located in Georgia. Any businesses, including electronic filers, that are assessed a penalty or interest and believe they did not receive due consideration regarding the storm’s impact, need assistance, or have questions should contact the department’s headquarters in Atlanta.
