Senate Vote Expected on Funding Bill – WSJ.com

The Senate is expected to pass a plan to fund federal agencies for the first month and a half of the fiscal year, which begins Tuesday. But what comes next is unclear. House leaders have said they won’t accept the Senate legislation, suggesting that versions of the spending bill will bounce between the two chambers and bring the country close to—or even past—a Monday night deadline.

Failure to pass some kind of spending plan by then would trigger a partial shutdown of federal agencies and services on Tuesday, with tens of thousands of federal workers placed on furlough.”
